Ruth is a part-time freelance Illustrator and fiartist with 12 years experience and 8 years as a primary school Arts & Culture educator based in the UK. 

With experience as a Senior Graphic Designer at Beetle Inc, a strategic advertising and marketing agency, 13th Floor Durban doing large format signage design and product leaflets and as the Get It magazine and newspaper layout designer at Caxton Ruth has gained a broad knowledge of Graphic programmes and processes.

Ruth’s recent illustration project using Affinity Designer and a waco tabet – digital hand drawn – has been a children’s book illustration for M.K Moye books – A book about inclusion and acceptance. Please find the link to her website and the ebook and hard copy here:

In 2013 Ruth won 3rd place as Graphic Designer of the year at the Caxton National Awards.

Ruth is very proud to be related to the late artist Nils Landmark Solberg – here is a link to his paintings and his son, her mother’s cousin, Nils Solberg, a professional Jazz guitarist .

Here she is doing backing vocals for her hubby and his friends duo Bad News Sandwich.

Ruth is also enjoying being a mother and a wife, loves oil, watercolour and gouache painting, cooking, baking, crafts and playing the piano!
